Something I think about when I open my closet.

During the winter, I only chose gray and black, but as soon as the weather got warmer, I suddenly started reaching for bright yellows, refreshing blues, and bright reds!

You might find yourself thinking, "Huh? Did I really like flashy things this much?" But this isn't a coincidence, there's actually a good reason for it.

Reason 1: Sunlight changes your mood

The days get longer from spring to summer. This is actually very important for our brains. When we are exposed to lots of sunlight, the happy hormone "serotonin" is produced in large amounts.

When serotonin levels increase, our moods become much brighter, which seems to affect the colors we choose for our clothes. Conversely, in winter, the hours of daylight are shorter, so our bodies naturally go into energy-saving mode. This is why we tend to choose monochrome clothing, which may actually be evidence that we are seeking psychological stability.

Reason 2: The color makes you feel cooler

Colour naturally affects the perceived temperature.

Warm colors like red and orange absorb light easily and often make us feel hot. Psychologically, they are associated with "warmth," so it's natural to want to avoid them in the summer.

On the other hand, cool blues and greens and crisp whites reflect light well, making you feel refreshed.

What's interesting is the pattern that mixes various colors, like African prints. The combination of vibrant colors may feel hot, but it can also lift your spirits and make you feel excited.

If we look around the world, we see that brightly colored clothing is often a culturally developed part of hot regions.

The traditional fabrics of West Africa are so vibrant that just looking at them makes you feel energized!

This is due to a variety of factors, including not only the climate but also the availability of dyes, cultural symbolism, ceremonial use, etc. However, there are regions like the Middle East where white and beige are preferred even in hot weather, so it's hard to generalize, but colorful cultures certainly do brighten our moods.

Reason 3: You want to express your hidden self

The self-expression that was hidden under a thick coat during the winter is something that you want to bring out when the weather gets warmer. Colorful colors are like a way to channel the energy and creativity inside you.

Especially for those who are busy every day, and who tend to dress modestly at work, wearing brightly colored clothes reflexively helps them change their mood and start the day feeling fresh.

By the way, let me introduce the mysterious charm of colors.

Research suggests that color may affect psychology and behavior. While there are individual differences, it seems that most people generally feel this way.

  • Red : Motivation switch on! Feel full of energy
  • Orange : Makes you want to talk to people and helps you come up with ideas
  • Yellow : Feeling sunny (but can be overpowering)
  • Green : Relaxation and mental balance
  • Blue : Effective when you want to stay calm and concentrate

If you try wearing these colors with these characteristics in mind during the open summer season, you may feel lighter in your heart. Colors have quite a big impact.

Let's play with colors this summer

When it gets hot, we start craving colorful clothes because it's a combination of sunlight, the body's structure, cultures around the world, expressing one's individuality, and the power of color.

This summer, why not take the plunge and break away from the monotone wardrobe you've been using all winter? Wear vibrant colors and discover a different side of yourself. It's sure to make your days more enjoyable! For beginners, we recommend a one-point design. Give it a try!
