Growing up in a house overlooking Lake Nakuru in Kenya, Rui would often gaze out her living room window at the tens of thousands of flamingos that painted the lake pink.

Sadly, the flamingo population has declined significantly over the years, but the pink flocks are one of Rui's favourite childhood memories.

Rui relives the beautiful flamingos she has seen from her window by decoupaging gorgeous protea flowers onto photos of actual flamingos.

"FEED THE BONGOS" The mountain bongo, endemic to Kenya, is an endangered species with only around 70 individuals remaining in the wild.
They are the largest of the bovids, and their numbers have been declining significantly year by year due to poaching, so the Mt. Kenya Wildlife Conservation Agency is breeding them to increase their numbers. Kangarui supports the "Save the Bongo Project," and a portion of the proceeds from any Kangarui product purchase will be used to feed the Mountain Bongos.
