[What is sisal?]
Sisal is a type of agave, and its fiber is called sisal after hemp, a fiber that was widely used historically.
Using traditional techniques from the Kikuyu and Kamba people of Kenya, sisal baskets (called kiondo) were used in Kenya to transport and store grain.
The technique of weaving baskets has been passed down from mother to daughter, and each basket is handmade, mainly by women in small rural villages in Kenya.
Today, weaving sisal bags has become an important source of cash income in Kenyan villages, helping to cover school fees for children and supplement living expenses for each family.
[Reasons why we recommend sisal bags]
1: Compared to regular sisal bags, the weave is finer and more beautiful.
Reason 2: It uses 1.5 times more sisal than regular sisal bags.
Reason 3: We only import baskets that have passed strict inspections and have good shapes and are woven with uniform weave.
Reason 4: Wide range of color variations. Original colors that are not available anywhere else.
As a result of the technical training, the sisal bags have a finer weave and are more beautiful than the sisal bags currently available in Kenya. The production group that we do business with has acquired the skills to weave premium sisal baskets that exude luxury.
